We want every item that leaves our studio to last as long as it possibly can but given the nature of our goods being made for the elements, sometimes mother nature can treat them to somewhat of a battering. Not to mention our furry little four legged besties tumbling through mud, diving in the sea and generally living the best dog lives they can surrounding themselves in our beautiful planet. So, like everything we care about, it's best practice to look after it. This page provides some information that will help you get the most out of your Wildbarc® gear.
Caring for your Goods

Like all our products the intention is to to make our treat pouches and bowls long lasting. If you have ever owned any wax cotton goods you already know they cannot be cleaned like other cotton items by simply throwing them into your washing machine or taking them to the dry cleaners. The following are some general cleaning directions so that you have some idea on how to clean these wax products to maintain their looks, longevity and usefulness.
We recommend following this process annually or once every 6 months should you thing it your wax goods need a refresh.
Before cleaning your wax pouch or bowl with water, wipe down with a clean dry rag in order to remove any loose dust or dirt. Normally the directions for cleaning a wax jacket recommends that you clean in cool clean water and a sponge though for deeper cleaner you can place the the pouch/bowl in a shower or spray it with a hose. In cases where they are especially muddy, try placing it in a bucket of cool water for several hours to loosen the dirt before then sponging or spraying it clean.
Do not use any soap or detergent when cleaning your wax cotton products as detergents will strip them completely of its wax coating and cause the lining to fade.
Once your pouch/bowl has been washed clean you need to hang it up in a well-ventilated area and allow to dry thoroughly. This may take up to 24 hours or more. Once your pouch/bowl has completely dried then it needs to be reproofed.
We advise using a wax especially for wax products. A quick search on google will bring up plenty of options.
Place the pouch/bowl on a flat surface (you may want to place something under it since waxing can be messy.)
You'll need a couple of soft clean cloths, reproofing wax, and a 5 minutes.
Melt the wax (if advised to do so) until it has turned to liquid form. Melting can be done by placing the can of wax in a pan of hot water or melt with a hairdryer. There are spray options available, for example NikWax sell one of these types.
Dip one of the soft cloths in the wax and rub into the pouch/bowl one small area at a time. Try and apply the wax as evenly as possible all over taking special care to ensure that you cover the seams well to prevent leakage around the threads.
Use the other clean soft rag to wipe off any excess wax. Use a hairdryer on warm setting to finish and blend the wax.
Allow to dry overnight in a well-ventilated area.
It's pretty easy when you know how so hope this has been useful.

Waterproof fabric is miracle for those mucky rainy rambles! Our collars and leads are made of heavy duty waterproof canvas and should last you a lifetime if cared for correctly. You'll be happy to know that maintaining your collars and leads is as easy as washing the dishes! Simple use a soft sponge and some warm soapy water to remove any dirt. Then leave to dry naturally. Simple right?

Like our waterproof collars and leads, our jacquard collection follows the same method to clean. Just wash your goodies in some warm soapy water giving a gentle scrub with a soft sponge to remove any ingrained dirt. DO NOT be forceful when cleaning as jacquard is made up of lots of cotton threads so you don't want to start pulling hard on them. Once cleaned leave to dry naturally.

Like pretty much all of our products, warm water and soap is the miracle cleaner! Just give your climbing rope lead a wipe down with a soft sponge dipped in warm soapy water and you'll have a brand new lead in no time at all! Try not to submerge in water as the lead will take a lot longer to dry out fully but if you really need to do so then make sure your leave to dry naturally in a warm place over night.

The best way to clean these is to hand wash in warm soapy water and leave to dry naturally. You can throw them in your washing machine but hand washing in some shallow warm water is much better for the environment.

Like our snoods we recommend washing these in warm soapy water. You can also iron the bandanas at a low temperature on your iron.
If you have attached any of the Scout's Honour patches then always wash with extra care as not to pull off the patches.
