To celebrate St Dwynwen's Day, the welsh patron saint of lovers. 

The original tale of Dwynwen has intertwined with elements of folktales and Celtic legends, leading to several variations. Dwynwen is thought to have been a daughter of King Brychan Brycheiniog, who lived during the 5th century, possibly with Rigrawst as her mother. She resided in Anglesey. 

In one version of the story, a young man named Maelon Dafodrill falls in love with Dwynwen, but she rejects his advances. In another version, Dwynwen loves Maelon but cannot marry him because her father forbids it, having already promised her to someone else. Heartbroken, Dwynwen prays to be freed from her love for Maelon. In response, an angel gives her a potion, which turns Maelon to ice. God then grants her three wishes: that Maelon be released, that He would care for all true lovers through her, and that she would remain unmarried. Grateful, Dwynwen retreats to the solitude of Ynys Llanddwyn, a small island off the west coast of Anglesey, where she lives as a hermit until her death around AD 460. Some accounts suggest she fled there out of fear of Maelgwn Gwynedd.

Dwynwen is also said to have studied the healing properties of local herbs, using her knowledge to cure many illnesses for those who sought her help from across Wales.
